Kim Kaufmann – VP, Creative Director

1. How would you explain what you do for work in 3 sentences or less to your 7 year old niece?
It’s kinda like school. I get to write and draw stuff, learn from folks who know things I don’t, and hang out with some pretty fantastic people. No naps though, and that part kinda sucks. I mean stinks!
2. What is the last book you read?
Born to Run. I finished it in two days…then immediately replaced my running shoes.
3. What do you have as your desktop wallpaper right now?
An underwater shot from a scuba trip in the Caribbean. I wish I could take credit for it, but I wasn’t experienced enough to man a camera while remembering to…ya know…BREATHE.
4. What is your favorite drink?
Impossible question. I co-run a twitter account (@cocktailers) focused on inventing, discussing, and of course imbibing interesting cocktails. So I like ‘em all. Oh, and I got my bartender’s degree at Harvard!
5. If you could be a superhero, what superpowers would you want to have?
I’m convinced anyone who has thoroughly considered this question will choose teleportation. I mean…it clearly trumps super-speed and flight. And I know, I know, “what about mind reading?” But that could get a little dicey, don’t ya think?
6. Have you in the past or would you ever bungee jump or sky dive?
Consider? Absolutely. Find myself in the grip of a full-fledged meltdown and chicken out just as my feet are about to leave solid ground? Quite possibly.
7. What are your favorite smells?
Lilacs. The ocean. The smell of dogs’ paws.
8. Do you have any hidden talents or interesting hobbies?
Er, my sister and I create content dedicated entirely to the topic of pickin’ up dog poop every day in the city. Yeah, for serious. Ask me and I’ll show you our latest video.
9. Are you afraid of anything?
Letting my fears get in the way of a life rich in good, scary stuff like jumping out of planes.
10. What is your favorite website, blog or online community?
Oh, I’m completely ADD with my digital consumption. That’s what Twitter’s for.
