1. How would you explain what you do for work in 3 sentences or less to your 7 year old nephew?
I figure out what websites your mommy visits to talk with other moms to find out what kind of toys she should buy you. Then I say “hey mommy, this Star Wars action figure is awesome! Other kids love this toy and moms like you think it’s great so you should definitely buy it for Wyatt”. Then mommy surprises you by getting you this toy and you are super happy!
2. What is the last book you read?
I read a lot of non-fiction and am about to start Ferran about Ferran Adria, the chef who opened El Bulli in Spain (now closed but once called the world’s best restaurant). I ate at his new restaurant, 41 Degrees, in Barcelona this past summer, and it was truly a culinary experience like none I have ever had!
3. What is your favorite drink?
Dirty martini, extra dirty.
4. What is your favorite lunch meat?
I have to admit I do enjoy a bologna sandwich. But Italian subs are definitely my fave, especially those from Casapulla’s in Delaware.
5. What are your favorite smells?
Fresh cut grass, Fall air, my mom’s Italian cooking, Coppertone sunscreen, salty ocean air
6. Do you have any nicknames?
There were 5 Rachel’s in my sorority (yes, I was in one) so I quickly was given quite a few including Jackson, Jax, Action, and Miss Jackson (that Outcast song was very popular then)
7. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher, which is funny because I definitely do not have the patience to manage a classroom of kids. I bow down to my friends and family members who are teachers. What they do is amazing!
8. What do you like about living in the Boston area?
Great restaurants, close proximity to so many amazing beaches in the summer, its walkability, and my friends.
9. Name three places you want to visit before you kick the bucket.
Japan, Fiji, and Africa (would love to go on Safari).
10. What is your favorite website, blog or online community?
What is your favorite website, blog or online community? Wow – so many to choose from! I love helping friends decorate so I use Pinterest to organize my ideas around for them. Fresh Home is a new site I recently discovered that has beautiful, modern homes that I would one day love to live in. I love Bill Cunningham’s weekly On the Street video via NYTimes.com about Manhattan street fashion. And I also enjoy catching up on the latest celebrity scoop via PopSugar during my downtime.
